Great Northern Ginger Beer redesign

Great Northern Ginger Beer, originally launched in 2023, is changing its can size and alcohol content to meet changing consumer preferences in the competitive ginger beer category.
The redesign will also see the can and packaging updated to use the brand’s ginger orange colour more prominently while a white marlin will replace the previous orange one.
GN Ginger Beer cans will change from 375ml to 330ml and ABV from 4% to 3.5%. This will also see RRP drop from $33 for a six-pack to $28.
Great Northern Marketing Manager Zac Gelman said:
“These changes bring Great Northern Ginger Beer more in line with other offerings in the competitive ginger beer category.
“We know drinkers of alcohol ginger beer are looking for more options to moderate.
“This gives them that opportunity while retaining Great Northern Ginger Beer’s refreshing crispness and delicious taste, with the distinct note of Queensland ginger.”
Creative agency SICKDOGWOLFMAN supported Great Northern with the redesign. Design Director Jake Turnbull said:
“We’re thrilled to be working with the team at Great Northern.
“This is a modern and vibrant update that elevates what was already there while staying faithful to the original look.”
These changes will not affect the size or ABV of any other Great Northern beer.
Great Northern Ginger Beer is available in cans and draught. It has since become one of Australia’s leading alcohol ginger beers and is best enjoyed in a tall glass over ice with a wedge of lime.
