Asahi Beverages New Zealand extends its New Zealand Cricket Beer and Cider partnership and adds Brookvale Union RTDs into the mix

Asahi Beverages is excited to renew its commercial partnership with New Zealand Cricket (NZC) and extend to an additional beverage category. The sponsorship is currently led by Boundary Rd Brewery (BRB) as the official beer sponsor and now ABNZ’s Brookvale Union will be this year’s official ready-to-drink (RTD) sponsor. Brookvale Union launched in New Zealand in June 2024. Its range of alcoholic classic pub sodas are exceptional in taste and perfect for a day at the cricket.
General Manager of Marketing, Oliver Downs, said “Asahi Beverages New Zealand has proudly partnered with NZ Cricket in recent years by supporting the Kiwi cricket connection through our local BRB brand, while also offering Somersby cider and Squealing Pig wine at venues.
“We are very proud to be involved in such an iconic sport and we value the growth of our partnership to extend to another product category. “Asahi’s purpose to bring enjoyment and connection to everyday moments aligns really well with summertime cricket,” said Downs.
The partnership across beer, cider and RTDs will be brought to life through even more match day cricket activations in 2025, social media content and promotions, and plenty of opportunities for fans to win prizes and experiences.
A range of the latest BRB and Brookvale Union products will be available at all BLACKCAPS and WHITE FERNS home games this summer, where we encourage everyone aged over 18 to drink responsibly on all occasions.
Downs said that Asahi Beverages looks forward to offering a wide range of options and in addition to the lead beer, cider and RTD brands, most venues will also stock Long White RTDs and Pure Blonde Ultra Low Carb beer.
“Cricket is New Zealand’s second largest sport and it is a privilege to be supporting both the men's and women's teams, and to provide cricket fans with some awesome experiences,” he said
NZC chief executive Scott Weenink was equally pleased with the new partnership extension and confident cricket fans around the country would be delighted. “It’s exciting to be joining forces with such quality brands and we’re sure our supporters will agree,” he said.
“Delivering a first-rate in-ground experience for our fans is, of course, very important, and this agreement will play a significant role in helping us achieve that.”
