Queenslanders are being urged to raise a schooner—and vital funds—for Queensland farmers, as Great Northern Brewing Co brings back The Great Shout in partnership with Rural Aid, kicking off at the NRL Magic Round.

From Thursday 14 May to Sunday 17 May, every Great Northern Super Crisp schooner purchased inside Suncorp Stadium, along with every beer poured from select kegs at participating pubs across Queensland, will deliver much-need support to Rural Aid for Queensland farmers and rural communities.

Having raised more than $300,000 in 2025, The Great Shout is hoping to hit $600,000 this year. Those unable to make it to the games or participating pubs and clubs next weekend can still take part by ‘shouting a farmer a beer’ through a $10 online donation to Rural Aid.

Queensland State Manager at Great Northern Brewing Co, Ian Giles said there are few things Queenslanders love more than a cold beer and looking out for one another.

“Queensland is special because we roll up our sleeves for each other – especially for our rural communities who are doing it tougher,” Mr Giles said.

“Last year’s response was incredible, and this year we’re encouraging even more Queenslanders to get behind our farmers by shining a spotlight on the many ways they can donate through The Great Shout.

“Whether you’re at Suncorp Stadium, supporting your local pub by having a beer there, or cheering the games on from home, every contribution to The Great Shout helps,” he said.

The return of The Great Shout comes after a challenging year for many Queensland farmers, with ongoing severe flooding, drought conditions, and heavy rainfall damaging crops and livestock, all while facing rising costs.

Rural Aid CEO, John Warlters said the ongoing challenges facing Queensland farmers highlight the importance of continued support and long-term recovery efforts.

“These challenging conditions are being felt right across the state, but with Great Northern’s renewed support this year, Rural Aid can continue helping farmers get back on their feet,” Mr Warlters said.

“Queensland farmers are tough, but recovery takes time and every bit of support helps them to continue rebuilding.”

Funds raised through The Great Shout campaign will support Rural Aid’s crucial services, including hay deliveries for hungry livestock, direct financial relief for impacted farmers and ongoing mental health support through its dedicated counselling team.
