SOLO Lime to launch with a thirst-crushing 726km journey from Melbourne to Gather Round in Adelaide

When it comes to rewarding thirst-worthy efforts, SOLO doesn’t do things by halves. To celebrate the launch of SOLO Lime, the iconic Australian soft drink brand is sending the trio from We Got The Chocolates on a truly thirst-crushing mission - a 726km race-against-the-clock from Melbourne to Adelaide to enjoy the Gather Round footy.
Kicking off in Melbourne - the spiritual home of the AFL – on Easter Monday, the crew will embark on a four-day journey to get SOLO Lime to Gather Round in Adelaide, in time for the opening game on Thursday evening. No mode of transport is off limits for the daring trio, with bikes, rollerblades and kayaks all expected to be in the mix for this truly thirst-worthy expedition.
SOLO has been crushing thirsts across Australia since 1973, earning its place as one of the country’s most iconic brands. SOLO is expanding beyond its legendary lemon flavour with SOLO Lime Zero Sugar - a bold new citrus addition designed to bring a fresh hit of flavour to a new generation of thirsty Aussies.
As part of the launch, We Got the Chocolates’ journey will take them through towns including Horsham and Bordertown before rolling into Adelaide for the Gather Round footy festivities. Along the way, expect a bit of everything - random roadside challenges, chats with locals, surprise AFL cameos and plenty of laughs when things inevitably don’t go to plan. It will all be captured in real time, with daily content shared across SOLO’s and We Got The Chocolates’ socials - giving fans a front-row seat to every kilometre, behind-the-scenes action and chaotic moments along the ride.
Jarrod Dooley, Head of Asahi Non-Alc Owned Brands, said:
“SOLO has always championed thirst-crushing efforts in a way only Aussies can – and this campaign builds on that legacy. SOLO Lime’s Thirst Crushing Tour brings the brand to life through bold, entertaining and highly sharable moments while introducing new SOLO Lime in a way that feels unmistakeably authentic.”
It’s not just about getting to the destination – it’s about the ride, the company and the thirst crushing moments along the way where the boys are having a crack – in true SOLO style. When We Got the Chocolates finally roll into Adelaide and kick back at Adelaide Oval, they’ll know that the journey was worth it… especially since they will have plenty of ice-cold SOLO Lime waiting for them.
