One Competition. One Million Dollars. Carlton Dry Brings Darts Back to The Pub
One lucky beer lover could walk away with $1 million in a new national darts competition from Carlton Dry, as the game surges in popularity around Australia.
The competition is aimed at getting even more people into their local, with entry as easy as buying a jug or any two glasses of Carlton Dry to share at one of 300 participating venues around the country.
One entrant will be chosen at random after the competition ends on 1 November and flown or driven to a Brisbane pub that month. There, they can win $1 million with their skills, with the exact part of the board they must hit to be revealed on the day. Even if they miss out on the big prize on the day, cash prizes up to $100,000 will still be up for grabs.
Darts has found a new generation of fans in Australia, drawn to a sport where fitness is optional and its biggest personalities are known for their nicknames, walk-on songs and colourful celebrations as much as their precision at the board.
It’s become a major live sporting event, with thousands of darts fans packing arenas to watch the nation’s most popular players battle it out on the big stage.
As the nation’s love of darts grows, Carlton Dry is helping take darts back to where many Australians first played it: their local pub, with hundreds of venues setting up dart boards and space to play.
Carlton Dry Brand Manager Jessica Johnson said the brand was innovating to help get more foot traffic into venues.
“As one of Australia's largest tap beers, Carlton Dry is at home in pubs. Darts is one of those iconic pub games that generations of Australians have played with their mates, so we wanted to put it back where it belongs and give people another reason to get down to their local.
“We’re taking Carlton Dry Darts to pubs across Australia, with more dartboards, more games and a million reasons to have a throw.
“For one person, a couple of cold ones at the pub could get them to The Prince Consort in Brisbane, with $1 million on the line.”
The competition is now open, with entrants able to win instant prizes and enter the draw for the Carlton Dry Million Dollar Darts Challenge.
The competition is open to pub-players and amateurs only.
HOW TO ENTER From now until 1 November, customers at participating pubs can: • Buy any two glasses (pint, pot or mid) of Carlton Dry or Carlton Dry 3.5%, or a jug to share. • Scan the unique Carlton Dry Darts game card they receive. • Play for instant prizes including Carlton Dry dart boards and dart sets, merch store vouchers and venue vouchers. • Enter the draw for the Carlton Dry Darts Million Dollar Throw.
