Ben Gerrans will be crashing one Aussie’s upcoming pre’s with a live DJ set - but there’s a catch
Hailing from Sydney and now based in London, Ben Gerrans is one of Australia’s rising electronic exports, bringing his high-energy blend of UK garage, electro and forward-thinking club music to dancefloors in Australia and overseas. Fresh from cracking the underground scene in London, sold-out shows across Australia and New Zealand, now he’s swapping the club for a considerably more intimate dancefloor for one night only: one Aussie’s pre’s.
Research has found that despite Gen Z happily broadcasting their lives to thousands online, they panic when their phone rings with an unknown number. In fact, almost six in 10 Gen Z dread making or accepting a phone call, even when it’s necessary. And the fear doesn’t stop there, with 42 per cent saying an awkward phone call is one of the top three things they would most want to avoid*.
This September, Vodka Cruiser X, a 10% ABV RTD, is turning that little moment of dread into an opportunity for Gen Z Aussies aged 18+, gamifying the unknown caller by putting something worth picking up for on the other end: Ben Gerrans doing a live DJ set at their next pre’s.
To enter Pick Up, Kick Off with Vodka Cruiser X, eligible Aussies will need to submit their details and convince DJ Ben Gerrans in 50 words or less, why he should crash their next gathering. The highest-scoring entry will receive a call from Ben himself, but his number will be hidden.
And that’s the catch: you’ll want to pick up every unknown caller because one of them could be Ben. It could be an ex with a new number. Linda from your local gym. Or it could be Ben Gerrans telling you he’s coming to crash your pre’s.
What’s on offer:
- One major prize winner will score a private DJ performance for themselves and up to 29 mates, with the event taking place on Friday 25 September 2026 in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, the Gold Coast or Canberra.
- One minor prize winner will receive two tickets to a future Ben Gerrans gig.
- Five runners up each receive 2 x 4-packs of Vodka Cruiser X to share with mates.
