Assistant Accountant

Your Impact

As an integral member of the Mountain Goat Finance Team, you will play a key role in supporting the business across finance and logistics functions. You’ll gain exposure to Sales, Marketing, and Operations teams, providing a broad understanding of the business and the opportunity to contribute to the smooth running of the organisation. Reporting directly to the Head of Finance and working closely with the Finance Manager, your work will help ensure accurate financial reporting, efficient processes, and strong operational support.

 

 

Key Accountabilities

 

Finance

• Process customer orders and maintain accurate records
• Prepare sales reports and month-end accounting, including balance sheet reconciliations and journal entries
• Manage AR and AP functions, ensuring timely and accurate processing
• Report on Excise Tax and compliance requirements

 

Logistics

• Oversee inventory management and reporting
• Coordinate with 3rd party suppliers and Parent company teams
• Provide insights and support across Finance and Logistics functions to optimise processes

 

Collaboration & Growth

• Work closely with Sales, Marketing, and Operational teams to support cross-functional initiatives
• Contribute to process improvements and support learning opportunities within Mountain Goat and the wider Asahi teams

 

 

About You

We are looking for a proactive team player who thrives in a fast-paced, complex environment and is eager to learn and grow. You will have:

 

• Experience in roles such as Assistant Accountant, Assistant Financial Analyst, or similar
• A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
• A positive, flexible, and proactive approach with excellent attention to detail
• Strong interpersonal skills, able to collaborate across teams and stakeholders
• Ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure in a dynamic environment
• MYOB knowledge is desirable but not essential
