Sales Manager – On Premise

At Asahi Beverages, we are building something special across our On-Premise channel in New Zealand. Following a promotion, we are now looking for a Sales Manager to lead and develop our national Business Development Executive team.

This is a leadership role focused on driving execution in market, coaching high performing sales talent and strengthening trade relationships across the hospitality landscape. You will play a key role in shaping the performance and culture of the team while delivering strong commercial outcomes across our portfolio.

The role is based in Auckland (Parnell) and reports to the Head of On Premise.


Your Impact

Lead and develop a national On Premise sales team responsible for executing brand, pricing, channel and customer strategies across the New Zealand market.

Working closely with key stakeholders across the commercial business, you will ensure strong in-market execution, build meaningful customer partnerships and deliver against commercial growth objectives.

You will spend significant time in market supporting and coaching your team, helping them strengthen customer relationships while driving sales performance across the regions.


Key Accountabilities

  • Lead, coach and develop a team of 7 Business Development Executives across New Zealand
  • Drive best-in-class execution across the On-Premise channel
  • Partner with customers to strengthen long-term commercial relationships
  • Support the team to identify and convert growth opportunities across the portfolio
  • Deliver commercial results aligned to brand, pack, price and channel strategies
  • Spend time in trade with team members providing coaching and development
  • Manage and review key regional accounts and customer performance
  • Collaborate with internal teams including Key Accounts, Marketing and Commercial to deliver growth initiatives
  • Embed a high-performance culture through leadership, development and engagement

 

About You

  • 3–5 years leadership or people management experience within sales or FMCG
  • Strong understanding of the On Premise, hospitality or alcohol channel
  • Experience managing customer relationships and driving commercial outcomes
  • Proven ability to coach, develop and lead high performing teams
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills
  • Commercially minded with a strong execution focus
  • Willingness to travel and spend time in market with the team

We are also open to candidates who may currently be a Key Account Manager or Business Development Manager ready to step into leadership, particularly those with strong channel knowledge and a passion for developing others.
