Your Impact:
We’re looking for a detail-oriented Quality Assurance Technician to support our Papakura site. In this role, you’ll carry out critical testing across raw materials, in-process and finished goods to ensure compliance with Asahi and customer quality standards. You'll play a hands-on role in internal audits, GMP monitoring, and the calibration and maintenance of test equipment. This is a rostered position that plays a vital part in upholding our quality and food safety commitments.
Please note: this role requires availability across our 24/5 manufacturing operations. Multiple positions available.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct quality testing across all stages of production, including sampling and calibration activities.
- Coordinate and dispatch microbiological samples and interpret test results, escalating out-of-spec findings.
- Support internal audits, GMP checks, ATP testing, and sanitation validation to maintain compliance.
- Troubleshoot quality and CIP-related issues, assist with complaint investigations, and help manage non-conforming goods.
- Lead or contribute to continuous improvement and problem-solving sessions focused on quality issues.
- Maintain accurate quality records, assist with stock management for lab consumables, and support the QEHS agenda.
About You:
You have a scientific mindset and an eye for detail, with experience working in fast-paced manufacturing or lab environments. You’re confident using test equipment, can interpret results, and take proactive steps to resolve quality issues. You’re passionate about delivering excellence and enjoy working both independently and with cross-functional teams.
- A tertiary qualification in a science-based discipline (e.g., microbiology, chemistry)
- Experience in a quality assurance or lab-based role
- Familiarity with food safety, GMP, and audit processes
- Strong analytical and communication skills
- Experience using Microsoft Office and statistical or lab data systems
