The Head of ESW Governance, Systems and Assurance is a critical leadership role accountable for the integrity, effectiveness and continuous improvement of our Environment, Safety and Wellbeing (ESW) Management System, with direct engagement across Executive leadership.
Your Impact:
Reporting to the General Manager – Safety & Wellbeing, you will be accountable for the governance, assurance and continuous improvement of the safety and wellbeing management system, frameworks, processes and controls that enable effective outcomes across the organisation. You will ensure our ESW systems, governance and assurance processes are robust, practical and insight-led, enabling leaders and frontline teams to manage risk effectively every day. Through strong executive reporting and strategic system stewardship, you will maintain the integrity, effectiveness and ongoing evolution of our ESW management approach, supporting due diligence at the highest levels of the organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own the design, governance, assurance and continuous improvement of the enterprise ESW Management System, ensuring it is fit for purpose, practical and scalable
- Lead executive and Board-level ESW reporting, translating data into meaningful insights, trends and strategic recommendations
- Oversee the internal audit and assurance program, providing clear visibility of systemic risks, control effectiveness and improvement priorities
- Lead the ongoing evolution of ESW policies, standards and frameworks, ensuring they remain clear, practical and aligned to operational needs and regulatory requirements
- Act as business owner for ESW systems and platforms, including safety incident and reporting systems, ensuring data quality and effective analytics
- Build capability across systems, assurance and training teams, fostering strong ownership, accountability and continuous improvement
- Influence senior leaders and stakeholders across manufacturing, supply chain, logistics and corporate functions to drive consistent system adoption and risk management
About You:
- Senior leadership experience in ESW, governance, assurance or risk roles within large, complex organisations
- Demonstrated experience leading systems-based safety and risk management in manufacturing or similarly complex operational environments
- Clear accountability for owning, governing and evolving enterprise safety or risk management frameworks
- Proven experience preparing and presenting Executive and Board-level reports, with a clear focus on insight, trends and decision-making
- Proven ability to operate credibly with senior leaders through concise, insight-led executive reporting and advice
- Strong understanding of audit, assurance and due diligence obligations, including regulatory compliance and ISO-aligned management systems
- Ability to work across strategy and execution, applying sound judgement to translate complex requirements into practical outcomes
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in safety, risk, environmental science or a related discipline
